Amidst rumours regarding unlock guidelines spreading like wildfire in the state, Odisha Special Relief Commissioner, Pradeep Jena on Sunday (June 13), requested people to refrain from sharing false information on the internet.
Odisha government is likely to lift lockdown restrictions gradually in a phased manner. On Saturday, Director of Health Services Bijay Mohapatra informed that the state government will slowly lift lockdown restrictions if the current trend of the declining Covid Test Positivity Rate (TPR) persists for the next few days.
The weekend shutdowns will continue as usual starting 6 pm of Fridays till 5 am of Mondays. However, vaccination and testing for Covid-19 will continue as per the protocols laid out by the State Health Department at designated centres.
In a major move, the Odisha government on Sunday extended the State-wide lockdown till June 17 in view of the prevailing pandemic situation. The 16-day extension of the curbs will come into effect immediately.
