The Cyclonic Storm Jawad will most likely turn into a deep depression tonight before nearing the coast of Puri on December 5, 2021, informed the DG of Indian Meteorological Department, Mrutyunjay Mohapatra on Saturday.

Amid the cyclone threat looming over Odisha, the regional meteorological centre on Wednesday (Dec 1) issued red warning for heavy rainfall in several districts of the state.

As per the latest forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low pressure area lies over South Thailand and neighbourhood and is likely to emerge into Andaman Sea during the next 12 hours.

The Chief of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Mrutyunjay Mohapatra on Saturday (Sept 25) stated that the depression over Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression which might intensify into a cyclone by today evening.
