EGI, country's top non-profit organization of journalists has requested the MHA to issue stern directions to all levels of law enforcement agencies to respect democratic values and freedom of press. 

The Inspector-in-Charge of Nilagiri Police Station was on Friday transferred to the Balasore district police headquarters amid the raging controversy over shackling of a journalist to a hospital bed after his arrest in a case in the district.
