A day after announcing that Independence Day celebrations in schools will be held without participation of students, Odisha govt has revised its decision again on Wednesday (Aug 10). School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash had earlier said that the decision regarding Independence Day celebration sans students’ participation was taken in view of the current pandemic situation.

School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said school children will participate in the Independence Day 2022 to be celebrated in educational institutions across the State.  

Speaking to the media, Dash said "As per the guideline issued by the State government, Independence Day celebration this year will be held in schools without the participation of students. However, teachers need to be present during the whole event."
