As the last date for admissions into +2 courses near, there is an urgency seen among students to obtain their Matric certificates. However, amid the urgency some surprising visuals emerged from Kandhamal and Balasore where students were seen receiving their matric certificates on roads. Teachers in Maa Bhairavi school under Kandhamal’s Tudibandha block and Balasore’s Bhogarai were seen distributing matric certificates on road.
Meanwhile, farmers have requested the state government to waive off farm loans. Else, they have no other option but to commit suicide.
As it turns out, the teachers were forced to distribute certificates beside National Highway – 59 because parents of the students had locked the school protesting demand of money against certificates by then Head Mistress of the school.

Following the survey, CM Naveen Patnaik announced 15-day relief to flood-affected people; and also directed for damage assessment within 7 days of floodwaters receding, and extension of assistance within 15 days.

As Odisha grapples with flood, Puri district has been among the worst hit districts. The district collector today conducted and on-field visit to take stock of the flood situation in affected areas.
Many areas in Cuttack district have been inundated due to rise in river water levels. People are grappling with adverse situations while commuting has also become difficult as Birupa River water level rises.
As crops raised by local farmers stopped coming to markets, people have to depend on vegetables being exported from West Bengal and other neighbouring states. And this has led to a rise in vegetable prices.
