Assistant Commissioner of Police (East) Ludhiana Surinder Singh said they were migrant labourers from Bihar and were sleeping when the incident occurred.
The majority of the victims of the fire mishap are small-scale traders. As many as seven shops including snacks and electrical shops were damaged in the fire tragedy while two shops were completely gutted.
While at least 15 persons perished in the blaze mostly due to suffocation, around 10 other workers are feared trapped or missing in the incident.
