DJ trucks face-off in Odisha’s Berhampur
The Berhampur district administration, on Monday, launched a strict crackdown on the two DJ operators involved in a disturbingly viral incident of a face-off involving their trucks late on Saturday night.
As part of the action, the administration sealed the two DJ shops and seized their trucks and equipment while also assuring further action.
An alarming clash during Ganesh immersion festivities in Berhampur saw two DJ-equipped trucks deliberately collide while participating in parallel processions, even as hundreds of devotees and onlookers stood nearby.
The incident took place under the Phulta village limits of Nimakhandi police station. Eyewitnesses reported that the trucks rammed into each other multiple times, causing sparks and damage to DJ systems and lighting equipment, triggering panic among the crowd.
After the video of the clash went viral on social media and was widely aired on television, the administration swung into action.
Berhampur Sub-Collector Avinash Kumar confirmed that the shops of both DJ operators involved, identified as Rahul DJ and Bajrang DJ, have been sealed, with all sound systems, equipment, and shop items seized.
He further stated that the driving licences of both operators will be cancelled as part of the crackdown.
“Two DJ shops have been shut and sealed. Their trucks are in our custody, and further investigation is ongoing,” Kumar stated.
Notably, police officials were present at the site during the processions but were unable to prevent the confrontations due to the large crowd. No injuries were reported, but authorities had assured of conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
