A key meeting of Odisha BJP MPs took place at the official residence of MP Pratap Sarangi in New Delhi on Monday. The session saw the participation of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, BJP state president Manmohan Samal, national vice-president Baijayant Panda, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Odisha state in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar.

A key meeting of Odisha BJP MPs took place at the official residence of MP Pratap Sarangi in New Delhi on Monday. The session saw the participation of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, BJP state president Manmohan Samal, national vice-president Baijayant Panda, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Odisha state in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar.

According to sources, nearly all Odisha MPs attended the meeting ahead of the upcoming Vice-Presidential election scheduled for Tuesday.

Agenda Focused On Vice-Presidential Election Preparations

Sources added that the primary focus of the meeting was strategising Odisha’s approach for the Vice-Presidential poll. Discussions included coordinating the voting process, assessing political alignments, and ensuring that MPs were briefed on the procedural aspects of the election.

The gathering allowed both state and central leadership to synchronise their positions ahead of the crucial vote.

Chief Minister Majhi’s Two-Day Delhi Visit

Notably, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is on a two-day visit to New Delhi. During the visit, he will participate in the voting process for the Vice-Presidential election and hold official consultations with the central leadership of the BJP.

The visit coincides with the recent Delhi trip of Odisha BJP president Manmohan Samal, indicating a broader set of political discussions and administrative reviews involving the state leadership.

Sources revealed that in addition to election-related planning, discussions included potential cabinet expansion, induction of new members into state-run boards and corporations, and organisational restructuring of the Odisha BJP.

Samal had recently returned from Delhi after meetings with senior party leaders, where he clarified that all administrative and political processes, including cabinet expansion and state committee formation, would proceed transparently and according to schedule.
