Reliable sources said that the EV makers have been given time till July end to respond in detail to the notices.

The Delhi High Court this week issued notice to the Centre and the Delhi government on a plea seeking directions for mandatory insurance for electric two-wheelers.

"The Ministry wishes to clarify that there is no such instruction and such reports are unfounded, misleading and far from the truth."

After nearly six such EV fire incidents within a month, the government has asked all EV players to take firm steps to avoid such incidents.
