The Odisha government appointed senior IPS officer Sunil Kumar Bansal as its new Director General (DG) of Police on Wednesday (Dec 15).

DGP, Abhay took stock of the security arrangements near and around the Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) in Bhubaneswar ahead of the month-long winter session scheduled to begin from December 1 (Wednesday).

The Director General of Police (DGP) and ADG (law and order) sought to dodge media queries on the issue that has created ripples across the country. 

Dubashi Sankar, a member of the Andhra-Odisha Special Zonal Committee of CPI (Maoist), was involved in a series of violent attacks on security forces and killing of civilians in Koraput, Malkangiri and Visakhapatnam.
