Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, country's most senior military officer who was killed, along with his wife and 11 other armed forces personnel, in an IAF chopper crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, will be cremated with full military honours in New Delhi today afternoon.
Black Box – the flight recorder of the IAF Helicopter MI17V5 which crashed in Tamil Nadu Wednesday has been retrieved on Thursday after authorities expanded the search operation in area from 300 metres to one km of the accident spot.
In another major update, reports reveal that an Odia Jawan was among the 13 persons who lost their lives in the helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor on Wednesday. The deceased jawan Rana Pratap Das, hailed from Talcher area in Angul district, and was serving as a Junior Warrant Officer in the Indian Air Force.
