A bench of Justices A M Khanwilkar and Dinesh Maheshwari asked Attorney General K K Venugopal and advocate J K Das, appearing for the CISCE, to place on record the parameters within two weeks.

The decision by Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) came on the lines of cancellation of the board exams by CBSE, which was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the high-level meeting, the Prime Minister will hold a discussion on various issues related to the matter with the concerned officials from different states.

As apprehensions continue to grow among the students regarding conduct of Plus-2 examinations, Odisha government is likely to take a final decision on the CHSE (Council of Higher Secondary Education) exams very soon, based on the Supreme Court’s decision with regard to the CBSE Class 12 examination.

The Supreme Court on Monday (May 31) once again adjourned the plea filed for cancellation of Class 12 exams of the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Examination) and ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education). The hearing of the plea regarding the cancellation of Class 12 Board exams wasdeferred by the Supreme Court benchto Thursday (June 3).

If health experts clear anti-Covid vaccine jabs for 17.5-year-olds, then all Class 12 students across the country must be vaccinated before the CBSE exams, said Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday.

The Central Board of Secondary Education said on Friday that it is yet to take any decision on the pending Class 12 Board Exams this year. 

As demand for cancellation of the Board exams for Class 12th students grows in the wake of the Covid-19 situation, reports suggest the CBSE may scrap this year's exam. While there is no official confirmation in this regard as yet, there is a possibility that the exams would be cancelled as the Education Ministry is reportedly considering cancelling the exams given the present scenario across the country.

The board is likely to review the COVID situation in the country in June before taking any further action related to the conduct or cancellation of the CBSE class 12 exam.
