The deep depression over East-central Bay of Bengal, which had remained practically stationary during past 6 hours, today intensified into cyclonic storm. It is situated about 600 km north-northwest of Port Blair (Andaman Islands), 540 km south-southeast of Paradip (Odisha), 650 km south-southeast of Balasore (Odisha) and 630 km south-southeast of Digha (West Bengal), as per the latest bulletin issued by the IMD.
The deep depression over east-central Bay of Bengal has intensified into a cyclonic storm and is likely to hit the Odisha-West Bengal coast on May 26 noon.
Odisha will see cyclone Yaas rain from the night of May 25. On landfall day, Balasore will record gusting wind at 100kmph. Bhubaneswar may record 60kmph gusting wind.
