Rourkela: Birendra Lakra, an alumnus of Rourkela Steel Plant`s SAIL Hockey Academy, who has performed impressively in the recently concluded Pre-Olympic qualifying tournament, has been felicitated, by the plant.
At the small function held on Wednesday, RSP CEO G S Prasad expressed the hope that the hockey talent would bring more glory for the country.
Lakra had scored the first goal against France in the final match of the tournament.
The mid-fielder, who had represented India in the Under 18 Junior World Cup, is among the probables in the Indian squad for Olympics to be held from July 27 at London.
