Leopard found dead in sanctuary
Bahraich: The mutilated body of a male leopard was on Wednesday recovered from a field in Katarniyaghat wildlife sanctuary, a senior forest department official said here.
"Body of a five to six-year-old male leopard was recovered from a sugarcane field near Lodhanpurwa village this morning and it might have been killed by a tiger," divisional forest officer R K Singh said.
He said there were canine marks of a tiger on the neck and skull of the leopard.
A panel of three doctors will conduct the post mortem of the leopard, the DFO said.
