Bhubaneswar: Apprehending possible terror attacks by terrorists and Maoists, Odisha police is planning to use anti-drone devices and make registration mandatory for commercial use of drones.

"In the near future a policy will be brought and Odisha police is preparing itself for using drones for security purposes," DGP RP Sharma said.

The DGP today met a Germany-based company for use of anti-drone devices.

The device will detect drones within 10 km radius and is also capable of defusing drone cameras.

As per reports, the Centre has planned to implement the drone policy from December 1. According to the drone policy, registering drone devices with police will be mandatory for commercial use and anybody flouting the rules will be punished.
