Maoists unleash terror again, shoot villager to death

Malkangiri: In yet another incident of mindless violence, a villager was allegedly shot dead by red rebels at Sudhakonda village under Kalimela police limits in Malkangiri district late last night.

As per sources, more than 20 armed red rebels called the deceased, identified as Ganga Madakami of Sudhakonda village from his house, tied up his hands and feet and took him away

Family members of Ganga later discovered his body from the outskirts of the village this morning. The body bore bullet injuries on head and hand.

Red rebels killed Ganga suspecting him to be a police informer, alleged the family members.

The red rebels are trying to scare people and make their presence felt in the area by unleashing terror, said sources. Following the killing, security personnel have intensified combing operation in the area.

Earlier, the red rebels had murdered a village head at Silakota in the locality.
