Puri: The much awaited light and sound show at Konark Sun Temple, which had to be temporarily suspended following extensive damage during cyclone Fani, resumed on Friday.

As per reports, the visitors can witness two shows between 7:30 to 9 PM on a daily basis. One can get a glimpse of the glorious history behind the construction of temple and world history through the light and sound show.

“The light and sound show was marvelous to watch. This is something very rare to watch and the show was simply amazing,” stated a tourist.

“It was very beautiful. It was enlightening, unbelievable and unimaginable,” said another tourist who was awestruck by the mesmerising show.

Senior officials informed the first show was witnessed by 79 tourists.

“It was after a gap of almost 28 days that the light and sound show resumed at Konark Sun Temple,” informed tourist officer Saroj kant Pradhan.

Pradhan further informed that the light and sound show was stopped owing to some technical glitches. Besides, extensive damage was also caused to electrical wires and antennas in the gusty winds during cyclone Fani which hit Odisha on May 3.

“Everybody including the tourists were waiting since long for the shows to resume. We are expecting that the visitor turnout for the shows will go up in coming days," he added.
