Four of a family burn to death, son-in-law allegedly sets house on fire

Jagatsinghpur: At least four persons of a family were killed after one of them allegedly set their house on fire at Banapat village under Kujang police limits of Jagatsinghpur late Sunday night.

The deceased have been identified as Nabaghana Sahu, his wife Kamala Sahu, daughter Rubina Mallick and son-in-law Harekrushna Mallick.

While Nabaghana, Kamala and Harekrushna died on the spot after the fire broke out in their house, Rubina succumbed to burn injuries while being taken to Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Although the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, sources said, Rubina, in her dying statement alleged a had that her husband had set the house on fire following a feud with his in-laws.

While police has begun a probe into the matter, no comments could be obtained either from the cops or any relatives of the deceased.
