Puri: Gyanendra Patsani, a Class X student of Grameswar Biswanath High School at Olhan village under Kanas block in Puri district had filled up the application & also submitted fees for Annual BSE matriculation examination 2019 in the prescribed manner. However, his dreams got shattered after he was allegedly denied admit card by the school authority. Subsequently, Gyanendra was deprived of the test which began today.

In spite of submitting Rs 450 fee and necessary documents to the headmaster of the school for form fill up, I was not issued admit card to appear for the examination, the boy alleged.

“I went to the school on the given date and submitted all the required documents and Rs 450 to the headmaster for filling up the form but now he is denying that I have not given him any document. The headmaster did not even give me any receipt,” alleged Patsani.

With no option left, Patsani along with his mother met the District Education Officer (DEO) and District Collector and intimated the matter to them.

“When I met the DEO to inform him about the incident, the officer did not even go through my application and misbehaved with me. Later, I went to the District Collector and after apprising the matter to him, he said that I cannot appear the examination today. However, he asked me to sit for the supplementary exams,” said a disheartened Patsani.

Meanwhile Puri DEO Hrushikesh Kandi stated that Gyanendra had filled his form as an ex-regular student which is why he was denied the admit card. “The student had filled the form as ex-regular student. On asking the concerned headmaster, he said that if the student had submitted the form, then definitely he would have been issued the admit card for the same. There is some misunderstanding which is yet to be clarified. However, I have advised him to appear the supplementary examination,” added the DEO.
