Bhubaneswar: The cyclonic circulation over Northwest and adjoining West-central Bay of Bengal off South Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts is likely to trigger rainfall across the State in the next four days, informed the Bhubaneswar regional Meteorological department on Thursday.

According to the Met department, the cyclonic circulation is likely to take the form of a low pressure in the next 24 hours and cause light to moderate rainfall in the State till July 28. The Met officials also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in some places in northern and coastal parts of the State.

“Most of the places in Odisha will witness light to moderate rainfall in the next 24 hours. This will continue for the next three days and some isolated places will also receive heavy to very heavy rainfall,” said HR Biswas, Director, Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre.

The Met department’s prediction is likely to bring some relief for the farmers as Odisha has recorded 32 per cent rainfall deficit from June 1 to July 24.
