Bhubaneswar: State-level counselling for undergraduate medical and dental admission would begin from July 22 and continue till July 25, said an official of the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE).

"We have put off the counselling date by a day. Now the counselling for the MBBS and BDS courses will be conducted centrally at the Institute of Engineers, Bhubaneswar, on July 22," said Priyabrata Sahu, Secretary, OJEE.

Counselling will be done from the merit list of NEET-UG 2013 for admission into 85% seats, which are reserved for domicile candidates, in four government medical colleges and two private medical colleges. The rest have already been filled up with all-India candidates selected through centralised counselling.

There are a total of 850 MBBS seats and 150 BDS seats in the government as well as private medical institutes.

Recently, the Medical Council of India (MCI) had allowed the Odisha government to increase the number of seats at SCB Medical College, Cuttack and Sardar Raja Medical College, Bhawanipatna.
