Paradip: A huge Marlin weighing approximately 200 Kgs was caught by some fishermen in sea near Paradip today morning.

The fish locally named as ‘Kaau Maacha’ owing to its long bill-shaped mouth resembling with that of a crow was caught by some local fishermen while they were fishing in deep sea near Paradip.

Fishermen said that even though the fish does not fetch much value in the market in Odisha, the demand for this species of fish is high in Kerala and some other states.

No sooner the news of the bumper catch by the fishermen spread like a wildfire, people began to rush to a market at Atharbanki Baliplot where the fish was placed for sale.

Notably, 3 fishes of the same Marlin species were caught in Paradip last month but their sizes were comparatively small.
