Poll irregularities: HC asks 3 MLAs, 1 MP to submit replies in 3wks

Cuttack: Odisha High Court on Thursday directed Brahamagiri MLA Sanjay Das Burma, Nabarangpur MP Balabhdra Majhi, Laxmipur MLA Kailash Chandra Kulsika, Soro MLA Parshuram Dhada to submit their replies within 3 weeks in connection with poll irregularities cases.

The next hearing of all these cases will be done on September 12, said sources.

Notably, defeated Congress candidate from Brahmagiri Assembly constituency Lalatendu Bidyadhara Mohapatra, Pradeep Majhi from Nabarangpur Lok Sabha constituency, BJD candidate from Laxmipur Assembly seat Hema Gamang and Soro Assembly seat candidates Mrutunojy Jena and Rakesh Kumar Mallick had filed petitions alleging malpractices and irregularities in the recently concluded twin polls.
