School student dies of electrocution in Bargarh

Bargarh: Tension triggered in Pipilipalli village under Sadar police limits here after a student of Pipilipalli Upper Primary school died of electrocution during school hours yesterday.

While the kin and local villagers gheraoed the school demanding compensation for the victim’s family, the block education officer took timely action by suspending the headmaster of the school immediately.

According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Chandramani Sahu (9), son of Dolamani Sahu of the village.
According to sources, the incident took place when Chandramani along with his friends were plucking guavas outside the school boundary during recess. He came in contact with an electric wire and fell off the tree.

Chandramani was rushed to Bargarh hospital where doctor declared him dead on arrival, the sources added.

Meanwhile, the police registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body for post-mortem.
