Cuttack: The commissionerate police on Wednesday left for Vishakhapatnam to conduct search operations in a house where the Dhalasamant brothers were staying on rent for more information on their criminal activities.

As the house was found locked, the commissionerate police had sought the permission of the local police to search the house by breaking the lock. But as no one was staying in the house, the local police had shown its reluctance to allow breakin open of the lock.

Keeping this in view, the commissionerate police have taken along a kin of the Dhalasamant brothers to Vishakhapatnam in whose presence they would break the lock of the house.

Police suspect that the two brothers might have stacked cash and arms inside the house.

In the course of its investigation, police has come to know that both Susant and his younger brother Sushil Dhalasamant used to stay in this rented house most of the time after committing crime in Odisha.

During their stay in Vishakhapatnam, the two brothers had set up their business network.

According to police, Sushant was mostly operating from Vishakhapatnam where he had some of his associates. He used to visit Odisha once in a while as he was hounded by the state police in connection with several criminal cases pending against his name. He was absconding since 1998.

Apart from Vishakhapatnam, the two brothers had also their hideouts in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Efforts are on to trace out their locations in these cities, police said.

The State Police have formed a number of special teams to trace out the source and transaction of black money and arms smuggling network of the two brothers.
