Cuttack: The summer vacation of the Orissa High Court,, which began on Friday will continue till June 19.

A notification to this effect was issued by the High Court Registrar.

As per the notification, a single vacation judge will hear emergency cases on May 25, June 3, 8 and 13 from 11 AM to 3 PM during the vacation while the court will receive cases for registration from 11 AM to 12 PM.

From this year, the Vacation bench and a special bench would jointly hear the appeal for criminal and jail criminal cases.

There will be more than one Special bench comprising of a single Judge and two Judges which will hear these cases on May 24, 25, 26, 27, 30, 31 and June 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13 and 17.

The Special benches of the court will expedite hearing of the cases of the under-trial prisoners (UTPs) convicted by the lower courts, the notification added.

The court, which will open on June 20, will have eight holidays (May 22, 29 and June 5, 11, 12. 14. 15 and 16). There will be no work on these days.
