Bhubaneswar: After the State government received lots of criticism from all quarters over the mismanagement of ‘Bramha Paribartan’, the key final ritual of Nabakalebar of the Trinity, chief minister Naveen Patnaik today called four of his ministers to discuss the issue and take steps for smooth conduct of upcoming Rath Yatra.

According to reports, the chief minister met Law minister Arun Sahu, Health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak, Energy minister Pranab Prakash Das and Urban Development minister Pushpendra Pratap Singhdeo at the Secretariat this morning.

Sources said Patnaik instructed all the four ministers to stay put in Puri during Rath Yatra and ensure that there are no further case of mismanagements as the mega event is likely to attract around 10 lakh devotees from across the globe.

The chief minister had expressed his displeasure over the inordinate delay in completing the Bramha Paribartan ritual and asked the Law department to look into the case seriously.

Following this, political circles were agog with speculations that the Law minister will lose his post. However, it is learnt from a reliable source that no such action is being taken at present.

Asking Puri temple chief administrator Suresh Mohapatra to be vigilant in conducting the Nabakalebar rituals systematically and in time, the CM asked the official not to allow any district level officials to leave Puri before completion of the festival.

Meanwhile, all the secretaries of the concerned departments, associated with Nabakalebar festival have been asked to depute senior officials of their respective departments in the temple town. Also, no official involved in the ritual of the deities would take leave without permission of the chief secretary.

The CM has also directed the chief secretary to make surprise visits and expedite works.
