ATMs run out of cash in Rourkela

Rourkela: The temporary cash-drought situation in several automated teller machines (ATMs) has caused a lot of inconvenience for the people in the past few days in Rourkela.

The residents here are facing difficulties in withdrawing cash from many ATM kiosks.

A lot of students, who had come to the steel city to appear for the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination, too faced problems as the ATMs failed to dispense cash today.

"We had no idea that ATMs would be running dry. When we reached the city, we found that 'no cash' boards were put up at several ATM kiosks here," said Prakash Sahu, a student.

Kirom, a job seeker from Rayagada district had run out of cash and had to borrow money from his friend to meet his expenses in the last two days.

Meanwhile, bank officials could not be contacted on the issue of cash crunch in ATM kiosks.
