“Along with Ramesh Jena, police has registered cases against R Murali Mohan, corporator of Berhampur Municipal Corporation and Buna Sahu, one of the closest associates of Jena on the charge of forcible acquisition of a piece of land in Nimakhandi area on the outskirts of Berhampur,” Singh said.

He said with this new case, police has so far registered 14 cases against Jena.

He also informed that the police has appealed to the court to take the former Congress MLA on seven-day remand for interrogation in connection with illegal arms trade and land grab cases registered in the Sadar police station.
