Bhubaneswar: A nine-feet-long python, weighing around 15kg, was rescued from the Regional Plant Resource Centre here on Thursday.

People immediately called the Snake Helpline after spotting the python hanging from a building on the premises of the centre. The members of the helpline then rescued the python and released it in Bharatpur forest.

It is suspected that the reptile could have sneaked into the centre from the nearby forest in search of food.

As per reports, several snakes have so far been rescued from the park at the regional centre in the last few years.
