Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm activity is likely to be witnessed in several parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday also issued a ‘yellow warning’ in this regard for several districts till April 23.

As per the IMD, a cyclonic circulation lies over Jharkhand and neighbourhood and a trough runs from the cyclonic circulation over Jharkhand to West Assam across West Bengal.

“There will be no large change in the maximum (Day) temperature during the next two days. The temperature is likely to fall by about 2 degree Celsius in subsequent two days over the districts of Odisha,” said IMD.

The weather agency further said that the maximum temperature will be more than 40 degree Celsius at many places over the districts of interior Odisha and likely to be above normal by 3 to 4 degrees at a few places over the State during the next two days.

Moderate rain/thunderstorm very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 20.04.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 21.04.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.04.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 22.04.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 Kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Kandhamal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh and Khordha.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.04.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 23.04.2022)
