Odisha is reeling under intense heat wave conditions for the past one week. No major respite seems to be insight as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted no change in the maximum (day) temperature during the next four to five days in the State.

The maximum temperature will be more than 40 degree Celsius at many places and likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degrees at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha during the next 4 to 5 days.

However, brief spells of rain and thunderstorm is likely to provide some relief to people from the scorching heat.
