Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Khorda, Puri and Ganjam in the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Saturday.

Apart from this, a Yellow warning for heavy rainfall has also been issued for the districts of Nayagarh, Gajapati, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur.

As per IMD, a Low Pressure area has formed over south Andaman Sea and adjoining Thailand coast today under the influence of the cyclonic circulation. “It is likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression over north Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal by November 15. It is likely to continue to move west–northwestwards, intensify further and reach near Andhra Pradesh coast around November 18, 2021,” said IMD in a release.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Khorda, Puri, Ganjam and heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nayagarh, Gajapati and Cuttack.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.11.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 15.11.2021)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Cuttack, Khordha and Nayagarh.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.11.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 16.11.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the district of Odisha.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.11.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 17.11.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the district of Odisha.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 17.11.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 18.11.2021)

Yellow Warning (to be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam and Gajapati.
