Although winter is on the brink of withdrawing from Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ warning for cold wave condition in two districts of the State.

The forecast (or warning) has been made for the districts of Kalahandi and Kandhamal. It will remain valid till Tuesday morning (tomorrow), the IMD said.

It is pertinent to mention here that cold wave conditions prevailed at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and interior parts of the State in the past few days. The minimum (night) temperature also registered an appreciable fall at one or two places over south coastal Odisha.

According to IMD, Titilagarh recorded the highest maximum temperature of 30.2 degree Celsius while lowest minimum temperature of 7 degrees was recorded at Phulbani in the past 24 hours.

Weather Forecast:

Dry weather is likely to remain mostly across Odisha till February 18.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.02.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 19.02.2022)

Light rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
