Lions are majestic apex predators called the 'King Of Jungle'. These big cats are renowned for their impressive size, social structure and hunting prowess. These powerful predators live in groups and it is almost impossible for prey to escape from their sharp jaws. While there are instances of prey escaping from the jaws of an individual lion/lioness, it can't be judged if a prey can escape from a lion pride. On the other hand, wild water buffaloes are robust animals with huge bodies and large, curved horns. These bovines are known for their strength and endurance.
In this social media age, several videos are available from the wild showing lions hunting down buffaloes either individually or in groups. Even some videos show buffaloes escaping from the cruel jaws of the predators or retaliating the attack, ultimately, injuring or killing the big cats. However, it is quite rare to see a buffalo herd locking horns with a lion pride.
Recently, a video surfaced on the internet that shows a buffalo herd daring to confront a lion pride to save one of their members.
In the video, the lion pride is seen with a buffalo while the bovine herd stands on the opposite side. As it seems, the lion pride hunted down a buffalo and the bovine herd is looking at their member helplessly. Suddenly, one of the buffalo charged the lion pride and several others followed it. Well, as it seems, the buffaloes were gathering confidence to lock horns with the cruel big cats and finally launched an attack on the big cats.
The sudden attack left the lions dispersed. However, two lions hold on to their prey. Well, the video ends before showing the conclusion.
While the source of the video couldn't be verified, shared on Instagram by Sweet Sonu, it has gone viral on social media. Amassing massive views, the video is being liked by users.
