Despite the efforts being made by the government to control inflation in the country, the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities have become a matter of serious concern. A social media user in Gurugram has highlighted how the rising inflation is hurting consumers.

The man identified as Ashish Singh took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and shared that he was surprised to see how expensive Gurugram is. Singh had gone to dine at a popular South Indian eatery located at 32nd Avenue where he ordered two dosas and a plate of idli. However, he was shocked to see the bill which totaled Rs 1,000.

Expressing his disappointment, he took to X and wrote, “Gurgaon is crazy, spent 1K on two dosa and idli after waiting for 30 mins. That is Carnatic Café in 32nd Avenue btw.”

Since being shared on X, his post has garnered a lot of traction online. A section of social media users asked him to move to other places while others highlighted that the prices are fairly reasonable owing to the location of the restaurant.

“You can get the same dosa and idli in a lot cheaper price in Bangalore and Tamil Nadu. You paid for the location not product here,” shared a user.

Another user wrote, “You pay for the location and vibe not just dosa. 32nd Avenue is most premium location for a restaurant, expect high prices.”

“Bhai Gurgaon to Shimla bus me aa jana, 500 rs kiraya. Idhr ek mst south Indian food place hai, 90rs ka Masala Dosa kahkr vps chle jana,” commented another user.
