WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform owned by Meta, has introduced a new feature that allows users to edit their sent messages within a 15-minute window.

Initially rolled out for Android users, this feature has now been made available for iOS users as well.

Here are the benefits of this feature and a step-by-step guide on how to edit your sent messages on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp's latest update allows users to fix mistakes, make changes, and provide more details to their sent messages.

This feature is especially handy when you need to quickly correct or add information to a message. By editing messages, you can ensure that your communication is precise and effectively expresses what you meant to say.

How to Edit Sent Messages on WhatsApp

  1. Open WhatsApp and go to the chat where you sent a message within the last 15 minutes.
  2. Long-press the message you want to edit.
  3. Click on the 'edit' option from the menu that appears.
  4. Make the necessary changes to the message.
  5. When you are done editing that message, press the send button.

Notable Details

You can edit messages in both individual and group chats, and the edited message will be tagged as "edited."

However, there is usually a time limit of around 15 minutes within which you can make changes.

Once this window expires, the message becomes permanent and cannot be edited further.
