After passing out in 2014, Vishakha easily secured a lucrative job as a software developer at Cisco Systems, Bangalore. However, she understood that her inner calling was to become an IAS officer and give it back to society. Finally, she left her job and decided to embark on the path to becoming an IAS officer, Zee News reported.

Vishakha's father, an assistant sub-inspector and mother stood firmly by her decision to quit her job for UPSC preparation. The unwavering encouragement from her parents served as a pillar of strength throughout her arduous journey.

Vishakha's preparation journey included intensive coaching and long hours spent in the local library, reading competitive books and previous years’ questions. She even solved the Sudoku puzzle to sharpen her mind.
