With no assistance from Apple, a Chinese tech enthusiast named Rock created a foldable Apple iPhone. It may seem unbelievable, but the techie’s hard work has amazed everyone. The youth has converted his iPhone into a foldable smartphone and named it “iPhoneV”.
The foldable iPhone dubbed iPhoneV is fully functional and runs Apple's iOS; it has a display that can bend, similar to the newly released Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
Recently, a content creator named Ben Geskin posted a video on Twitter that shows a foldable iPhone built by a craftsman. According to Ben, a craftsman from China has redesigned and built an iPhone 13 Pro into a foldable mobile. The maker reportedly modified iPhone parts to fit inside the Motorola Razr 2020 in order to create a foldable device.
While sharing the video, Ben Geskin informed that the bottom half houses the motherboard with the chip and memory, while the top half holds the sensors, battery and cameras. Additionally, the hinges were used from a Moto Razr 2020 and the body had to be 3D printed, the content creator wrote.
While Samsung has released various foldable smartphones recently, iPhone maker Apple has not yet set foot in the foldable device space. It seems the Cupertino-based tech giant has no plans of releasing a foldable iPhone anytime soon.

Describing the techie’s journey of developing a foldable iPhone, Ben said that it took more than a year for the display to work, since it’s hard to separate the glass from the matrix. The result is a working iPhone 13 Pro that can be fully folded in half.
Meanwhile, Rock, who is also a YouTuber shared a video talking about his latest development of a foldable iPhone on his YouTube channel called Technological Aesthetics. He also provided a step-by-step tutorial in his video. Have a look:
As seen in the video, the design of the iPhoneV looks bizarre but functional. However, the screen of the modified iPhone seems to be fragile which is expected from such a project. However, it is worth thinking that if a craftsman with minimum resources and without any outside funding could achieve this feat, how long Apple will take to release a full-fledged foldable iPhone?
