BCCI on Tueday announced the 15-member Indian team for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Despite his poor form in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), Hardik Pandya was appointed Team India’s vice-captain for the global tournament to be held in the West Indies and the United States of America.

The star all-rounder is the most trolled player on social media. Former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has been targeting Pandya since the first match of Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL 2024. Irfan has not missed a single opportunity to go after the new MI captain. Pandya has himself to blame as he hasn’t performed well as a batsman, bowler and captain so far.

However, former India opener turned expert Wasim Jaffer has come out supporting Hardik, who is currently under fire.

Jaffer urged Pandya to remain strong and sounded confident that the star player would perform for India in the upcoming T20 World Cup and  the critics would applaud him.

"Criticise his performance as much as you want but it’s extremely disappointing to see the constant personal trolling and attacks. Stay strong @hardikpandya7 next month you’ll be playing crucial knocks in WC and the same people will be singing your praise,” Jaffer wrote on social media account X (aerlier known as Twitter).
