T20 WC 2024: Sunil Gavaskar bats for Bishnoi ahead of Kuldeep as Team India’s frontline spinner

In the lead-up to the T20 series against Afghanistan, legendary batsman and former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has handpicked India’s frontline spinner for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Promising tweaker Ravi Bishnoi has strengthened his selection case for the upcoming T20 World Cup after climbing the ranks with a series of impressive performances.

As per the Little Master, youngster Bishnoi has an edge over his contemporaries for selection in the squad for the mega event.

“Apart from bowling, Ravi Bishnoi is a very good fielder. He is a better fielder than Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal,” said Gavaskar during an interaction.

The former India captain further believes that Bishnoi can also chip in crucial cameos with the willow as a lower-order batsman for the team.

“Bishnoi can bat as well. He applied his brains and won his side the match with his calmness in the last IPL. I feel he and Avesh Khan had won their side the match against RCB. So Ravi Bishnoi for me,” the former great added.

Notably, Bishnoi was instrumental in India’s series win over Australia. The promising tweaker was named the player of the series at the time.
