Traffic constable Shubhamitra Sahoo (25) has been missing for the last nine days, sparking concerns among her family and the community. Originally from Paradip and posted in Bhubaneswar, Shubhamitra disappeared from the Surya Nagar locality under the Capital police limits on the 6th of this month.
Despite relentless efforts by her father, there has been no trace of her so far.
Shubhamitra’s father, distraught and desperate, has made a heartfelt plea for her safe return. “Wherever she is, I just want her to come back safely,” he said. He also alleged that the police have not provided the family with any updates or information regarding the investigation.
Lack of communication from law enforcement has intensified the family's anguish, raising questions about the progress and transparency of the search operation.
Shubhamitra was last seen while on duty in Bhubaneswar. With each passing day, the mystery surrounding her sudden disappearance deepens, and her family’s wait grows more painful.
“To whom should I express my grief? To whom should I blame? All that I want to say is the suspect youth must be brought and kept in police custody. After 2-4 days in custody, he will automatically speak out where she is and how she is,” the missing girl’s father said.
“I suspect one Deepak Rout. Presently, the youth is working in the accounts section at the Police Commissioner’s office. Either the youth has kept her (Shubhamitra) somewhere or has done something else. If he loves her, why had he gone to Tarini Temple a couple of days after the intervening day she went missing (on September 6), when we launched a frantic search for the girl?” the elderly man stated.
“He (Deepak) has a Hyundai car and he had gone to the temple early in the morning at around 4.00 AM,” the elderly man added.
No comments were received from either the police or Deepak Rout in this regard.
