Gujarat Titans (GT) will lock horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a rematch in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday. In their last match, KKR pulled off a stunning victory at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad where Rinku Singh whacked GT pacer Yash Dayal for five sixes in a row in the final over when KKR needed 29 off the last over.

Since that game, Dayal is down with an illness and has not played any match. Skipper Hardik Pandya had earlier revealed that the left-arm pacer has lost 7-8 kilos after that match and is not in a condition to play.

“Yash fell ill and lost 7-8 kilos after that match. There was a spread of viral infection during that period and also due to the pressure he had faced. His condition is presently not good enough to take the field,” Pandya had said.

However, Wriddhiman Saha has quashed Pandya’s remark by saying that Dayal’s illness has nothing to do with Rinku’s five sixes.

“Dayal’s illness has nothing to do with those five sixes. It is not game related. He has been suffering from heat fever. He has been unwell. Mentally he is okay. You have to face such situations. He didn’t get his yorkers right that night. We all have boosted him up and he is a lot better now. There is no connection of his illness with this match,” said Saha.
