Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was among many other cricket buffs who woke up to the news of lower-ranked Netherlands beating formidable South Africa in the Super 12 match of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 on Sunday.

This was a major upset as the Proteas are now out of the semifinals race. Sachin was in shock after the stunning defeat. The Master Blaster took to Twitter and posted, “Went for breakfast with a friend. Told him we’ll go Dutch. He almost choked at the proposition! #SAvsNED.”

The batting maestro also posted a photo of the Netherlands team with the caption, “Started my Sunday morning on a healthy note. Had some orange juice! It seems to be the flavour of the day! #NedvsSA”

Notably, the Dutch team caused the biggest upset of the ongoing mega event, beating South Africa by 13 runs. It paved the way for India to seal their berth in semifinals even if they lose their last Super 12 match to Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, Pakistan beat Bangladesh by five wickets to secure a semifinal berth in the T20 World Cup 2022. They are the second team after India to qualify from Group 2. Pakistan got the opportunity to enter the top four due to the shocking defeat of the Proteas.
