Police Suspect Murder Elsewhere

Investigators suspect that the crime may have taken place in another location, and the body was later dumped at the site. They believe the deceased may not be from the nearby locality, as no missing person complaint has been reported from the area.

Police Statement

“The face is disfigured, so the face cannot be identified. We are looking at belongings like, watch, handkerchief and shoes, and many other things as we are trying to establish his identity in a scientific manner. We have asked the nearby local residents.  Our team is asking the people in slums and other nearby areas for further identification. From what information we have gathered, we don’t think the missing body of a youth is from the nearby locality. If yes, we would have gotten the information by now. We hope he is an outsider, so that’s why our inquiry is underway. We suspect that the incident happened somewhere else, and the body has been dumped here. We have put up posters and the DCP has announced a cash reward for identification,” said Mrutunjay Swain, IIC Mancheswar

The mystery surrounding the youth’s death has left residents unsettled and police puzzled. With posters circulated across the city and assurances of anonymity for informants, authorities are hoping that vital clues will soon emerge. Until then, the unidentified body remains at the centre of an intensifying investigation, as police work to uncover both the victim’s identity and the circumstances behind his suspected murder.
