Ahead of the India-South Africa match on Sunday, a police officer took a picture with Rohit Sharma and wished him luck. But the photo soon went viral leaving many pondering whether the officer arrested the Hit-Man.

The photo was clicked before the second T20 International between India and South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday.

In the picture, Rohit can be seen standing with Deputy Commissioner of Assam Police Ponjit Dowarah, who shared it on Twitter and wrote, "Best of luck. Ek century banta hein (One century is a must). @ImRo45."

Though it was a sweet gesture by the Police commissioner who wished Rohit luck before the match, some mistook the picture and thought the India skipper had been arrested.

A Twitter user wrote, "At first I thought u are arresting him , no one is smiling in this pic Y?"

"Don't arrest my idol Deshrohit Besharama," while a fourth added, "Why so serious Rohit? Looks like you are arrested or an accused here," wrote another user.

Meanwhile, a maiden T20I century from Rilee Rossouw led South Africa to a convincing 49 run win over India in the 3rd and final T20I at the Holkar Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. However, India won the three-match series 2-1.

Brief scores:

South Africa 227-3 in 20 Overs (Rilee Rossouw 100 not out, Quinton de Kock 68)

India 178-10 in 18.3 Overs (Dinesh Karthik 46, Deepak Chahar 31)
