A snake was spotted on the field during the 2nd T20I between India and South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, leading to a break in the play.

The unexpected guest stopped the match for a few minutes during India's batting innings. However, the security officials at the stadium were quick to evacuate the reptile from the field and the play resumed.

Meanwhile, riding on Suryakumar Yadav's 61, Virat Kohli's 49 and KL Rahul's 57, India put a mammoth total of 237 runs against South Africa.

Earlier, South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl first. Rahul and Rohit Sharma gave India a fiery start. The opening pair's 96-run partnership was broken by Maharaj when the Indian skipper dragged a slog-sweep to deep mid-wicket.

However, Rahul continued his attacking play and smashed 57 of 28 balls, before Suryakumar Yadav brought out full carnage of 360-degree shots to score 61 runs off just 22 balls.

In the final over, Dinesh Karthik applied his finishing touches with a four and a couple of sixes taking India to 237 against the visitors.
