Following the conclusion of his term after the recently-concluded ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Team India head coach Rahul Dravid is not interested any more to extend his contract as the head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team.

As per BCCI sources, current National Cricket Academy (NCA) chief and former India great VVS Laxman is likely to take the mantle from Dravid.

Laxman has been named as the head coach of the Men in Blue for the five-match T20I series against Australia, starting from today.

Dravid was appointed head coach of Team India after their campaign came to an early end in the T20 World Cup in the UAE. The former India great has also served as the head of the NCA.

Under Dravid’s tutelage, the Men in Blue reached the finals of the ICC World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup. However, the team lost to Australia on both the occasions. They also reached the semifinal of the T20 World Cup last year. But they lost to eventual champions England.

However, India won the Asia Cup earlier this year under Dravid’s guidance.
