Though the loss of the Indian team in the final of the recently-concluded ICC ODI World Cup 2023 has left several fans in the country heart-broken, former Team India all-rounder Suresh Raina was buoyed by the sizzling performance of the Men in Blue in the mega event.

The former southpaw is optimistic that the Indian team will rectify their performances in the upcoming edition of the maga event set to take place in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia in 2027.

“We will see the Indian team doing well again because they know how to reach the later stages of the tournaments now,” wrote Raina in his column for the ICC.

“It just takes a bit of time to understand how to manage those pressure situations, especially when you are at home. Sometimes when there is a lot of pressure you can lose your focus, and I think that is a lesson they will learn from this,” Raina further wrote.

The former all-rounder feels Australia skipper Pat Cummins’s uncanny captaincy proved to be a major difference in the final between both the teams at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
